Our current unWalter Moritz werbungderstanding is that the boat was built in the Netherlands between 1958 and 1961. Possibly in Aalsmeer. The mainsail that came with the boat seems original and was made by the german sail maker Walter Moritz. The sail carries a 1957 marking and is in a good condition. This company in the town of Lübeck does not exist anymore as of August 2006.

jongkindBoth the jib and the spinnaker that came with the boat carry the marking of dutch sail maker Jongkind from Aalsmeer. This company does not exist anymore either. Its former building at Uiterweg 184 in Aalsmeer is being used for exhibits. The founder of this company, Jan Marinus Jongkind, has competed as a crew member in the 1964 Summer Olympics in Enoshima in a Dragon and has sailed the Flying Dutchman at competition level before that.
